Marie Balog's Obituary
Marie L. Balog (nee Bedell), age 92, of North Ridgeville, died Sunday at Adult Care By Sandy Nursing Home, Lorain, following a long illness.
She was born in Joplin, Missouri and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for 50 years moving from Lorain.
Mrs. Balog was a 1930 graduate of Lorain High School and earned a BS in Education from Bowling Green University. She also earned credits from the University of Michigan and Kent State.
She was a elementary school teacher for Lorain City Schools.
She was a former member of the 20th Street Methodist Church and St. Joseph Hospital Juniors Guild. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening and reading mystery novels.
Survivors include her son, Paul (Sally) of North Ridgeville; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Paul Balog in 1983; parents, Charles and Carlotta (nee Rettig) Bedell; sisters, Lois Graham, Dorothy Johnson; brothers, Walter and Charles Bedell.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9PM at David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville.
Services and burial will be private.
