Maria Sweda's Obituary
Maria Theresa Sweda (nee Serrian), age 94, passed away at home with family on Sept 7th, 2012 in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Maintained a home in North Ridgeville from 1946 until 1998, at which time moved to Rochester Hills, Michigan to live with her son and his family. Resided in Muskegon from 1962-66 and Detroit from 1966-1985 with her husband George, who was a public health physician until his death. Mrs Sweda worked for many years for the Veteran's Administration in Cleveland, Ohio as an executive secretary until her retirement.
Survived by her son Paul (Sandy), grandchildren Sean (Gabrielle), Jon-Paul (Elisabeth), George, Elizabeth and Brianna and former daughter-in-law Candyce Sweda. Also survived by sister-in-law Gloria (Arthur)Serrian and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Catherine Serrian, dear husband George, siblings and their spouses Angelina (Charles) Guinta, Michael (Mary), Albert (Ida), Frank (Mabel), Richard (Janette) and Arthur.
Memorial calling hours will be held Monday from 2-7PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Memorial Mass will be held 10 AM Tuesday at St. Peter Church 35777 Center Ridge Road N. Ridgeville. Rev. Bob Franco, Pastor will be the celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Maria's name to the National Wildlife Federation or the Sierra Club.
