Marcus Shoemake's Obituary
Shoemake Obit:
Marcus N. Shoemake, 75, of Cleveland, died Wednesday August the 13th at St Vincent Charity Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Bryson City, NC, and had lived in Cleveland since 1948; moving from Lenior, NC.
Mr. Shoemake worked as a Dispatcher for General Motors Cleveland for 33 ? years until his retirement in 1981.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was a member of the UAW local 45 Cleveland.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doris J. (nee McCarthy) Shoemake; two daughters, Marcia (Bob) Perkey; of North Ridgeville and Marilynn (Roger) Sanson, of Walhalla, SC; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Fred Shoemake, of Lenior, NC.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Bertha (nee Barlow) Shoemake; four sisters, Pansey Walker, Pauline Walker, Estelle Dula, and Connie St. John; and three brothers, Howard, Carl and Olan Shoemake.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; were funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Reverend Bill Shomo will officiate.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
