Marcella Swartz's Obituary
Marcella C. Swartz (nee Arnold), age 99, of North Ridgeville, passed away, Monday, April 6, 2009 at the North Ridge Healthcare Center, North Ridgeville, following a long illness.
She was born in Akron, and moved to North Ridgeville in 1998.
Mrs. Swartz also lived in Margate, Florida for 30 years.
Marcella worked for the Board of Elections of Summit County for 20 years.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville, where she and her husband, Gerald, celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on December 31, 2002.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, playing cards and traveling.
Survivors include son, Gerald Jr. (Josephine) of Marion; daughter, Marilyn (John) Lux of Amherst; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Sr.; brothers, Charles and Edgar Arnold; sisters, Rowena Engler and Ethel Wagner and parents, Frank and Frances Arnold.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 10:00AM at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, South Amherst., Fr. Denis St. Marie, Pastor Emeritus will be the celebrant.
Entombment will be private in Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nativity Alter & Rosary Society
