Mamie Merkley's Obituary
Mamie H. Merkley (nee Thoreson), 95 of Elyria died Saturday January 20, 2007 at Wesleyan Village, Elyria following a short illness.
Born in Ellsworth, Iowa, she was a resident of Elyria for 18 years and formerly lived in Winterhaven, Florida.
Mrs. Merkley worked as a waitress, retiring in 1979 after 40 years.
She was a member of North Ridgeville Baptist Church.
She enjoyed keeping her house clean, traveling and her dog "Peepers".
Survivors include her daughter, Dolores Loy of Elyria; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Barrett in 1985; parents, Carl and Anna Thoreson; sisters, Florence Powell, Anna Jacobson, Lurine McMahon, Hazel Sorenson; brothers, Leo, Curtis and Wesley Thoreson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 27th, 2007 at North Ridgeville Baptist Church, 5400 N. Lear Nagle Road, North Ridgeville. Eric Woody will officiate.
Private burial will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Twp.
