Mamie R. Brown's Obituary
Mamie R. Brown (nee Sullivan), age 95, entered into rest December 14, 2024, at O’Neill Healthcare Skilled Memory Support Community in North Ridgeville, OH after a long illness. Mamie previously lived in Toledo, OH, and moved to Elyria to be with family. Her expert culinary skills provided delicious menu choices for Augusta National Golf Club members, Masters Tournament attendees, and other venues in Augusta, GA and Toledo, OH. Even after retirement she loved watching the competition each spring. She was a born-again Christian, and enjoyed traveling, puzzles, gardening, and reading. Mamie was born in Augusta, GA, to parents Seabron and Mary C. Sullivan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe W. Brown of Dallas, TX; brothers James, Joseph, George, and Andrew Sullivan deceased; sisters Sarah M. Johnson, Mary O. Banks, Sallie M. Bush deceased. She is survived by her sisters, Evelyn Putnam of TX; Dorothy A. Sexton of Elyria, OH; nieces Terri L. Sexton – caregiver of Elyria, OH; Wendy M. Sexton of Atlanta, GA; and many more nieces and nephews. Thanks to the staff at O’Neill Healthcare for their excellent care. The family will celebrate her life privately.
