Louis Pierce's Obituary
Louis E. "Lou" Pierce, age 95, of North Ridgeville, passed away Friday, August 7, 2009 at Wesleyan Village, Elyria following a short illness.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was a resident of North Ridgeville since 1947.
Mr. Pierce served in the US Army Air Corp as a radio operator during WWII on a B-24 flying mission over the Himalayas's.
He owned and operated Pierce Radio & TV Repair Service and Pierce Signs and Hobbies on Avon Belden Road in North Ridgeville.
He was an active Ham Radio Operator with the call K8MGH and taught approximately 100 children ham radio lessons. He also enjoyed playing his organ at home and at local nursing homes entertaining the seniors, making and flying kites, model hot air balloons, rockets, cars and remote control boats.
He is survived by several good friends including Margaret "Peggy" Wilson of LaGrange.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace in 1991.
Friends may call Monday from 7-9PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be on Tuesday a 11:30 in the funeral home. Rev. Bill Shomo will officiate.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
