Louis Cohen's Obituary
Louis Cohen, age 88, of Avon, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 at St. Mary of the Woods in Avon after a lengthy illness.
He was born on July 22, 1928 in Denver, Colorado and has been a resident of Avon for the past 8 years moving from Avon Lake. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a graduate of Fenn College, and went on to become a Senior Research Scientist for B.F. Goodrich, where he was instrumental in developing safe production of PVC, as well as holding 20 plus patents.
Louis loved to travel and camp with his family during his entire life, with the Four Corners Region of Utah holding a special place in his heart. He was also an amateur painter, photographer, enjoyed writing poetry and listening to classical music.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elaine (nee Albers); sons Mark Cohen of Amesville, OH, David (Stephanie) Cohen of Boulder, Co and Darren Cohen of Amesville, OH; grandchildren Leah and Sam Cohen; many nieces and nephews.
Louis was preceded in death by his Parent Chaim and Ida Cohen; siblings Freida, Sol, Henry, Morris and Eugene.
Private family services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made to the National Resources Defense Council at www.nrdc.org.
