Lois Knittel's Obituary
W. “Lois” Knittel (nee Ferguson), age 88, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Northridge Health Center in North Ridgeville.
She was born in Crab Orchard, Tennessee and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for 60 years, moving from Elyria.
Lois worked at Lakewood Manufacturing for 40 years, retiring in 1997.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville and the Red Hat Society.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends along with cooking, sewing and traveling.
Survivors include her daughters, Jackie ( Bruce) Tigert of North Ridgeville, Tammy (Mark) Kreighbaum of Michigan City, Indiana, stepchildren, Karl Knittel, Christine Lerchen, Robert Knittel Jr., Leslie Ragnone, Kurt Knittel, Jay Knittel and Fay Molitor all of Michigan, many grandchildren and great—grandchildren, brothers, Kenneth, Steve and Terry Ferguson.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Malenka and second husband, Robert Knittel Sr., son, Ivan “Dale” Malone, father, Preston Ferguson and mother, Edith “Dora” Sloan, stepfather, James Sloan and brothers, Volney, Ray and Venis Ferguson.
Friends may call Thursday from 5-8PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where there will be a prayer service on Friday at 10:30AM followed by a 11AM Mass at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Fr. Bob Franco, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
