Linda Tompkins' Obituary
Linda L. Tompkins, age 79, died Thursday May 9, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born October 1, 1933 in Wyse County, Va. to the late Stephen C. and Stella E. (nee Kiser) Webb. Linda was a resident of North Ridgeville since 1965, moving from Brook Park.
Mrs. Tompkins was a hair dresser at Coiffures Beauty Salon in North Olmsted where she was the manager for many years. She was also employed for over 20 years at Olmsted Falls City Schools. In her free time, Linda enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include: daughters, Linda Sue (Allen) Gillard, Ft. Myers, Fla., Debra (Daniel) Wade and Theresa Workman, both of North Ridgeville; sons, Harry "Pete" (Judy) Workman, North Ridgeville and Jim (Connie) Workman, Columbia Station; grandchildren, Daniel and David Wade, North Ridgeville, Dustin Wade, Brunswick, Ryan Workman, Elyria, Sheri Kershaw, Adam and Jeremy Workman, all of North Ridgeville, Brian Kolhoff, Elyria, Robert McGovern, Charlotte, NC and Terrence McGovern, Papua, New Guinea, James Workman Jr. of Cummings, Georgia; two sisters, Jeanette Beverly, Dayton, Vivian Cook, North Ridgeville, and Jane Cook, Charlotte, NC; brother, Larry Cook, Beckley, W.V.; step son, James Tompkins of Phoenix, Ariz.; and step daughter, Susan Smink, Amherst.
Linda was also preceded in death by her husband, James Tompkins; son, Stephen Andrew Workman and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:30-8:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013. The Rev. Ray Carpenter will preside. Burial will follow at Ridgeville Cemetery.
