Linda Manoloff's Obituary
Linda May Manoloff (nee Bittner), 75, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2014. Born and raised in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Fred Bittner (d. 1970) and Verna Taft (nee Gabbey, d. 2014) and the widow of Sam Manoloff (d. 1992), Linda is survived by her three sons, Rick (Molly), Dennis and Brett, her sister, Julie, and her four granddaughters, Alexandra, Sophia, Samantha and Grace. She leaves behind a radiant spirit that has brightened the lives of all -- from Bay Village, where she resided since 1966 and taught Spanish, to Guatemala, which she visited 30 times to install and educate communities on clean water systems, among other projects. Her work ethic was unrivaled; her love of life, learning and Cleveland sports teams legendary; and her passion for doing good in the world inspirational. Slowed only by ALS at the end, the ripple effects of her life well-lived will know no temporal or geographic bounds. A memorial service will be held at her beloved church, Bethesda-on-the-Bay Lutheran Church, in Bay Village, on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Those who wish may make donations to the “Linda Manoloff Memorial Fund” c/o any Fifth Third Bank branch or donations may be sent directly to Richard Manoloff with checks made out to Linda Manoloff Memorial Fund, 3928 Kings Mill Run, Rocky River, OH 44116. Donations received will be used to continue Linda’s good works.
