I was stunned to read an email from a fellow worker in Cleveland yesterday telling of your father's passing. I have known your Dad since he joined Canadian National Carbon Company, in Toronto, in 1950, right out of university. We served on the Recreation Club there for a couple of years, then your Dad was transferred to Cleveland, in 1954. My husband (since deceased) and I moved to Cleveland in 1955 and I, too, worked at the Research Lab. Your Dad came to dinner on many occasions since we Canucks always stuck together. I had been in touch with your Dad a couple of years ago because a man (since deceased) who went to my church graduated from University with him; he also used to go to this man's home for dinner in Toronto (small world).
I was driving this morning and heard the announcement on our local Toronto (I moved back 'home' in 1989) AM station that your Dad, who invented the Energizer Bunny Battery, had died.
Please accept my Sincere Sympathies at this time of parting; certainly your Dad left a GREAT BIG MARK on this world. I feel priviledged to have known him.
