Lewis Ray Matthews' Obituary
Lewis Ray Matthews, age 84, of North Ridgeville, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. He was born in Denbo, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for 54 years. Lewis served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and worked as an operator for First Energy, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed owning multiple German Shepherds, cutting grass, planting and working on older cars. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0275 in Grindstone, Pennsylvania.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barbara (nee Haurin), brother-in-law Jack Haurin of Fairview, sister-in-law, Helen Longsdorf of Berea, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Iva Matthews, siblings, Jim, Dorothy, Charles, Thelma, Sylvia, David, and Faye.
Friends may call Sunday from 1PM-5PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Monday at 12 -noon at the funeral home. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate.
Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
