Leona Collins' Obituary
Leona B. Collins (nee Bowlin), age 85, of North Ridgeville, died on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the Southwest General Health Center; following a long illness.
She was born in Confluence, PA and had lived in North Ridgeville the past fifty-five years; having moved from Cleveland.
She was a member of the Fields United Methodist Church, North Ridgeville.
She had worked forty years for Sears and was well known in her position as manager in the catalog department at Sears in the Great Northern Mall. She retired in 2000.
Leona enjoyed reading, crafts, being an active member of the Old Retired Employees of Sears and the Spiritual Frontiers.
It is important to note that this lady gave countless hours of her time and energy raising three grandsons after the death of her daughter Donna in 1993.
Surviving are her daughter, Doris (Tom) Stanford, of Fairview Park; son, Richard (Laura) Collins, of Grafton; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother Carl Bowlin, of Confluence, PA.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Keiser-Hendricks; her parents, Clyde and Ida (nee Reckner) Bowlin; four sisters and two brothers.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11AM. Reverend Neriah Edwards, pastor of Fields United Methodist Church, North Ridgeville, will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
