Leon Snyder's Obituary
Leon F. "Buzz" Snyder, age 75 of Elyria, died Wednesday June 7, 2006 at EMH Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
Mr. Snyder had resided in Elyria since 1951 having moved from North Ridgeville. He was a maintenance supervisor for Sheffield and Sheffield Lake City Schools, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Elyria, the VFW Post 1079 Men's Auxillary, the Elyria Moose Lodge # 778, and a Golden Moose member.
Buzz was an avid bowler whose first question to his doctor upon becoming ill was "When can I bowl again?" He bowled at Brunswick lanes where he had been a member of a few leagues. He also enjoyed camping and pitching horseshoes.
Buzz is survived by his wife of 55 years, Celia M. ( nee Gavorski ); daughter, Linda Crabeels of Elyria; son Randy of Elyria; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Capell of Elyria, Marianne Diederich of North Ridgeville, and Anne McCoy of Elyria; and a brother, John of Elyria. He was preceded in death by a son, David; parents Edwin and Harriet; sister, Clarita "Rita" Capell; and a brother, Kenneth.
Family will receive friends Friday at the DAVID BOGNER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 36625 CENTER RIDGE RD., NORTH RIDGEVILLE from 6PM until the time of the memorial service at 8PM. Rev. Thomas P. Kowatch of St. Mary's Church, Elyria will officiate.
