Lela Lawrence's Obituary
Lela "Ann" Lawrence (nee Clemons), 74, died Saturday April 12, 2008 at her residence following a short illness.
She was born on June 12, 1933 in McAlpin, WV. She moved to the area in 1957, and had also resided in Cleveland.
Mrs. Lawrence was a member of the North Eaton Baptist Church. She was a devoted volunteer for twenty-five years who ran the North Eaton Baptist Church Food Program, raising funds and getting food through the Lorain County Food Bank to supply to the hungry. She enjoyed spending time with her family , and looked forward to attending camping trips at Salt Fork Lake.
Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Thomas, three sons, Rick, of Nova, Gary (Debbie) , of Grafton and David (Debbie), of Elyria; two daughters, Debra Anderson of Grafton and Susan Starcher of Elyria; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Clemons of TN, Carl Clemons, of Lorain and Ira Lee Clemons of IL and two sisters, Dortha Kisel of Elyria and Doris Hall of WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Bessie Clemons (nee Gibson); two brothers, Marvin and Leonard Clemons and five sisters, Ruby Gravely, Mamie Nunn, Velma Bosak, Hazel Raymond, and Mary Jane Clemons.
Family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 6-9PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the North Eaton Baptist Church, 12109 S. Reed Rd., Grafton with Rev. Stephen Carter, Pastor, officiating. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations have been suggested to the Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, Attn: Contributions, 7445 Deer trail Lane, Lorain, OH 44053.
