Lawrence Smith's Obituary
Lawrence S. " Larry " Smith, 71 of North Ridgeville, died Saturday, May 13, 2006 at his residence following an ongoing illness.
He was born March 5, 1935 in Gary, Indiana. Larry and his wife had been residing in memphis, TN since 1972 and had moved back to North Ridgeville in 2001.
He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid sportsfan who was known to have team schedules within his reach at all times, and would watch two or more sports on two different televisions at the same time at his home.
Surviving are his wife of thirty-three years, Mildred ( nee Beebee); three sons, Terrence Smith, Thomas of Willoughby, and Stephen of Mentor; two daughters, Deborah Swansinger of Phoenix, Arizona, and Linda Costello of Phoenix, Arizona; step-son William Metzger of Victoria, Texas; brother Thomas of St. Joseph, Missouri; sister, Elizabeth Enderlin of Arlington Heights, Illinois; Eight grandchildren; and two step-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome F. and Florence Smith; and his step-son, James Metzger.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11AM Thursday May 18 at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Rd., North Ridgeville with Rev Dr. Richard A. Gonser officiating. Family will receive friends at the church from 10AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 424 Middle Ave. Elyria, OH 44035.
