Lawrence M Janowicz's Obituary
Lawrence M. Janowicz, age 68, of North Ridgeville, passed away Saturday February 23, 2019 at O’Neill Assisted Living following a one-year illness.
He was born on June 5, 1950, in Elyria where he had resided until moving to North Ridgeville last year.
He had earned his bachelor’s degree from Borromeo Seminary then went on to earn his master’s degree from Baldwin Wallace in Business Administration. Larry worked as a Systems Analyst for Metro Health Medical Center for 31 years, retiring in 2016.
Larry was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. Having enjoyed studying astronomy, he was a long-time member of Black River Astronomical Society.
His hobbies included watching classic comedies.
Larry is survived by his wife of 7 years, Donna (nee Lacina), two sons, David Janowicz of Elyria and Paul (Fiancée Kristin Brewer) Janowicz of Berea; stepson, Teddy Dowdell of Cleveland; three brothers, Fr. Richard Janowicz of Springfield, Oregon, Kevin (Christine) Janowicz of Indianapolis, IN and David (Patty) Janowicz of Elyria; and his sister, Linda Kantelas of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his son Michael, and parents Frank W. and Eunice M. (nee Malanowski) Janowicz.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be held 9:15 AM Wednesday followed by 10 AM Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church 590 Poplar St. Elyria. Fr. Frank Kosem and Rev. Mr. Patrick Humphry will co-officiate. Burial will take place in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Elyria.
