Lawerence Smith's Obituary
Lawrence Smith, age 85 of Chardon, formerly of Sheffield Lake died Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Heather Hill Hospital in Chardon following a long illness.
He was born March 3, 1921 in Webster Springs, WV. He had resided in Chardon the past years having moved from Sheffield Lake where he had lived since 1985. He previously lived in Westlake.
Mr. Smith served in the US Navy during WW II.
He was a member of VFW Post 9871, North Ridgeville where he served in the honor guard for many years. He was also a member of Odd Fellows Lodge 388 in Defiance.
He enjoyed playing golf and the guitar.
He worked as a Stationary Engineer for Wade Park Veterans Hospital, Cleveland retiring in 1983 after 27 years.
Surviving are his wife, Paula (nee Bradley), step daughter, Debra Cameron of Cleveland; step son, John Cameron of Lyndhurst and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Parents, Norva and Dorothy Smith.
Private services where held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Military honors where preformed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9871.
