Larry McCoy's Obituary
Larry David McCoy, age 73, of Elyria died suddenly Monday May 1st at EMH Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Woodman, Kentucky. He had resided in Elyria the past 20 years having moved from Columbia Station. He had previously lived in Cleveland.
Mr. McCoy retired from River Terminal Railroad, Cleveland in 1973 where he was an engineer for 25 years. He currently was manager of Rayko Car Wash on Cleveland Street in Elyria.
He was a member of West Ridge Baptist Church, Elyria. He enjoyed trains and playing his banjo.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carrie (nee Price), two daughters, Mrs. Stuart (Virginia Ann) Payne of Inverness, Florida, Mrs. Randy (Bonnie) Payne of North Ridgeville, seven grandchildren, two sisters, Helen McKinney of Rosedale, VA and Carol Whitt of Lebanon, VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Florence McCoy, son Christopher Bailey in 2002, grandson Christopher Bailey in 1971, brother Samuel McCoy in 2003 and infant sister Rita Colleen McCoy.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday in the funeral home. Reverend Mike Payne will officiate. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memory Garden, Brunswick.
