Larry L. Mason's Obituary
Larry L. Mason, age 68, of North Ridgeville, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake, following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Elkhart, Indiana and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 38 years moving from North Olmsted.
Mr. Mason served in the US Army.
He retired as a Detective with the rank of Lieutenant from the North Olmsted Police Department in 1998, after 28 years of service. He also was a bomb technician with the Westshore Enforcement Bureau.
He was a member of the FOP and enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening and hunting with his brother and father.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Andrene (nee Kovatch); daughter, Christine Wenneman of Olmsted Falls; son, James (Mariane) Wenneman of Warwick, Rhode Island; grandson, Luke Wenneman and brother, Richard (Janice) Mason of Traverse City, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Lucille (nee McCartney) Mason.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rev. Bob Franco, Pastor, will be the celebrant. North Ridgeville Post 9871 will conduct Military Honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to FOP Lodge 25, 26145 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, OH 44145. Bogner Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Ridgeville handled the arrangements.
