Larry H. Gordon's Obituary
Larry H. Gordon, age 76, of Avon, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born in Dover and had been a resident of Avon for the past 16 years. He previously lived in Olmsted Falls and Berea.
He graduated from Dover High School in 1958, received his BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1963 from Case Institute of Technology and then went on to the University of Toledo, where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1969.
Larry worked at NASA Lewis Research Center from 1963 until retiring, in 1998.
He also worked as a part-time instructor for Cuyahoga Community College Western Campus.
He was a member of Olmsted Community Church in Olmsted Falls.
He enjoyed photography, fishing, biking, beachcombing, summers at Lakeside and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Holly (nee Holzworth) Gordon; children, Geoffrey (Christine) Gordon of Novi, Michigan and Gretchen (John) Allnutt of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina; grandchildren, Caitlyn and Alex Gordon; Logan and Hollyn Allnutt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Verbal (nee Johnson) Gordon.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:30AM at Olmsted Community Church, 7853 Main Street, Olmsted Falls, 44138.
