Kenneth Wilson's Obituary
Kenneth W. Wilson, age 68, of North Ridgeville died Saturday morning at his home following a long illness.
He was born in Marvel, Arkansas. He had resided in North Ridgeville the past 41 years moving from Cleveland.
Mr. Wilson served as a Sergeant during the Korean War in the US Army. He received the Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars.
He retired from General Motors Parma Chevy Plant in 2000 after 45 years of service where he was a set up man.
He was a Life Member of VFW and Past Commander. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 211 in Avon Lake and the UAW Local 1005.
He enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing and bowling and was active in the VFW Bowling and Golfing League.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sarah (nee Smith), four sons, Ken Jr of Brunswick, Scott of N. Ridgeville, Robert of Matteson, IL, Timothy of N. Ridgeville, three daughters, Karen Cochran of Oldsmar, Florida, Donna Long of Cleveland, Valerie Hassler of O'Fallon, Missouri, twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Easley, Shannon Cochran, Mallory Wilson, Chesrae Wilson, Tonya Ross, Misty Randolph, Kenneth Marker, Samantha Hassler, Adam Hassler, Brandon Wilson, Austin Wilson, and Kayla Wilson and seven great grandchildren, Brittney Tinney, Alyssa, and Anthony Randolph, Chris "CJ" Ross, Caleb and Jennifer Cochran and Ella Easley, his mother, Sibyl Wilson of Sikeston, Missouri, and three brothers, Joe of Sikeston, Missouri, Bob of Moreshouse, Missouri, and Darrell of Illinois.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Wilson and two brothers.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be 11:00 Am Tuesday in the Funeral Home. Reverend Bill Shomo will officiate.
Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
The Elyria VFW Post 1079 will conduct full military honors at the cemetery.
