Kenneth G. Schaab's Obituary
Kenneth G. Schaab, age 73, of Oberlin, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, February 14, 2015.
He was born on December 31, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio and has lived in Oberlin for the past 8 years, moving from North Ridgeville.
Ken was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and worked as a government tech for Western Union and G.T.E., retiring from G.T.E. in 2001. He was currently working as a school bus driver for the Oberlin City School District.
Throughout his life, Ken enjoyed traveling, camping and sightseeing the United States with his entire family. He could be found on many of those trips doing another one of his passions, hiking. He also enjoyed attending his granddaughter Amber’s 4-H horse shows and riding his tractor around his property, where he was known to frequently get it stuck!
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pat (nee Mauer); daughters Christine (Stephen) Wargo of New Mexico and Barbara and Holly Schaab of Oberlin; granddaughter Amber Schaab of Oberlin; grandsons Brendan and Trevor Wargo of New Mexico; half brother William Schaab of FL; stepbrother John (Sandy) Kodrich of Willoughby; stepsister Mitzi White of Warren.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents William and Catherine (nee Cence) Schaab; stepfather John Kodrich.
Funeral Services with Military Honors on Wednesday, February 18 at 8:30 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6 p.m. until time of service. Rev. Bob Franco will officiate. Interment will be private.
