Kenneth E. Juchem's Obituary
Kenneth Edward Juchem, age 83, of Westlake, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023 at Danbury Senior Living in North Ridgeville. He was born in Lakewood, attended St. Edward High School and graduated from the University of Dayton. He lived in Westlake from 1980-2016.
Kenneth worked as a Social Worker Supervisor for Cuyahoga County Human Services for many years, retiring in the late 90’s. He served in the US Navy from 1962 - 1964 and achieved the rank of Seaman E-3 on the U.S.S. Chukawan, an oiler in the Mediterranean Sea. He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette’s in Westlake and was involved with Right to Life and Marriage Encounter. He enjoyed trains, race cars, NASCAR, Mustangs, coin and stamp collecting, listening to Jazz, watching OSU football, Cleveland baseball, traveling and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughters, Michelle (Dennis) Bayot of Moorpark, California, Maureen (Ron) Spring of Westlake, Melinda (Robert) Reed of Avon, Martina Juchem of Cleveland, grandchildren, Austin, Jack, Savannah, Carolina, Nico and Alex, sister, Kathy Dudchenko, sisters -in-law, Patrice Boswell-Smith, Martha Durigg and Barbara Bokenyi.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Constance, brother, Charles Juchem, sisters, Ann Juchem, Rosemary Kobylak, brothers-in-law, Stan Dudchenko, Joseph Kobylak and William Bokenyi, and his parents, Edward and Helen Juchem.
Friends may call Sunday from 12:00 - 3:00 PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. To honor Ken’s love of sports and Jimmy Buffett, guests are encouraged to wear Ohio sportswear or Hawaiian shirts. Mass will be held on Monday at 10:30AM at St. Bernadette Church, 2256 Clague Rd., Westlake. Fr. Philip Racco, Pastor will be the celebrant. Please meet at the church.
Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in North Ridgeville.
