Kenneth Bier's Obituary
Kenneth D. "Ken" Bier, age 88, of North Ridgeville, passed away at his home Monday, March 12, 2012, following a long illness.
He was born in Old Brooklyn and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1945 moving from Avon Lake.
Ken served in the US Coast Guard during WWII.
He worked as a landscaper for Jerry Steadman Landscaping in Westlake for over 50 years, retiring in 1991.
Mr. Bier was an active member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, North Ridgeville.
He enjoyed history and building model airplanes.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Billie (nee Bement); sons, Michael (Joan), Timothy (Denise), and Jeffrey (Janet) Bier all of North Ridgeville; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ethel Bier and grandson, Michael Bier in 2005 and his brother, Donald.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held 11 AM Friday in the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Tom Joyce will officiate.
Burial will follow in Ridgeville Cemetery.
