Kenneth Alten's Obituary
Kenneth H. Alten, age 77, of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at Center Ridge Nursing Home, N. Ridgeville, following a long illness.
He was born in Avon Lake and had been a resident of Elyria for over 50 years.
Mr. Alten served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Kenneth owned and operated Alten Realty in Elyria since 1967. He also worked as an inspector for Bendix Inc., Elyria for 30 years retiring in 1980.
He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, Elyria, VFW Post 1079, American Legion #12 for the past 35 years.
He enjoyed roller skating with the Senior Roller Skaters of America for 46 years.
Survivors include his daughter, Anita Marie Rymer of Cocoa, Florida; son, Daniel of Tampa, Florida; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Theresa Krupar of Oberlin, Rosetta Sabcic of Onsted, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Lauretta Alten; brothers, Ray "John" Alten, Alvin "Pete" Alten and Gilbert Alten.
Friends may call Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 9:30 until the time of prayer services at 10:30AM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, N. Ridgeville. An 11:00AM Mass will follow at St. Jude's Church. Fr. Frank Kosem, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
