Kathleen M. Russell's Obituary
Kathleen M. Russell, age 87, of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, July 30, 2021 at St. Mary of the Woods Nursing Home in Avon.
She was born on January 15, 1934 in Akron and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 26 years, moving from Fairview Park.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Avon, where she was part of the Mission Circle. She was a devout Catholic who prayed continuously. Kathleen worked as a Registered Nurse at Metro Hospital in Cleveland, retiring in 1994.
She raised 7 children, was an avid reader and most importantly, loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, William (Vicky) Russell of Pembroke Pines, Florida, Mary Julius of Avon, Thomas Russell of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Kathleen Williams of North Ridgeville, Janet Dorenkott of North Ridgeville, Jennifer (Ron) Justiniani of North Ridgeville and Daniel (Julie) Russell of Huron; and her grandchildren: Karin Gutwill, Sarah Dorenkott, Brian Dorenkott, Melanie (Steven) Hawes, Stephanie (Patrick) Flesher, Russell Justiniani, Michael Williams Jr., Mary Kay Williams, Katherine Justiniani, Monica Williams, Kevin Russell, Gregory Julius, Daniel Justiniani, Bianca Russell, David Russell, Emily Russell, Brooke Russell, Molly Russell and great-grandchildren: Sadie Flesher and Tenley Hawes; her siblings Elizabeth Smith (Victor deceased), Francis Hoffman, Jeannie Roth (Paul), Joan Magnuson (Eric) and countless nieces and nephews whom she loved and who love her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Wallace C. Russell; infant daughter Karen; parents Joseph and Jane Gerhart, her brother Gregory Gerhart (Virginia) and sister Mary Roth (Don).
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday for a 9:30 a.m. prayer service preceding a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2640 Stoney Ridge Rd, Avon. Rev. Thomas Cleaton and Rev. Joe Robinson will concelebrate. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon.
