I just saw this obituary on line as I searched for my childhood home and I am so very sorry for your loss. I grew up across the street from the Hanelines on Yeoman Dr. in Westlake, OH. Kathy (as I use to call her) was my childhood friend, but we lost touch after middle school . We use to spend hours playing "Barbie Dolls" together or riding our Bikes around the neighborhood till we were called in for dinner. Kathy's Dad Art, use to take us along on his company outings year after year at Euclid beach park, where we'd ride the rides till dark and eat "Humphrey" popcorn Balls & salt water taffy. I have many fond memories of your Mom when I think of my childhood. I am so sorry to hear of your loss and only wish I would have found her sooner than today. May God hold her and keep her forever. Dear Missy,

I can't wrap my head around the fact that my dearest friend of 48 years is not a phone call away. I am forever blessed that she touched my life.

We must remember that God takes us when our work is done on earth. Your Mom, my friend, accomplished so much, touching so many, in her short time on earth.

The good times, hard times, exciting times, tears, hugs and just the friends "laughing and giggling" times.......will never be forgotten. Your Mom left loving memories for my children also. We have reminisced so much in the past days.

You are a wonderful daughter and your Mom was so very proud of you.

Melissa,
Sandra & I were deeply saddened when you called us the morning after your Mom passed & gave us the news. Our deepest & heartfelt condolences & prayers to you & your family. We knew Katie for more than fifteen years thru our shared fellowship at St. Clarence Church & thru many fun-filled social interactions. She attended many of the Christmas parties we held at our home over the years. She was a sweet, kind & gentle soul who was always ready to help others, but rarely accepted assistance for herself. She spread light, love & compassion everywhere she went. She is sorely missed. May our Lord Jesus Christ cradle Katie in His arms for eternity.

I've known Katie for many years through our mutual friend, Maryann. For the past few years we enjoyed going to the Playhouse Broadway series together. I am so sorry she has left us but know she is in a better place. She will be in my prayers.
