Katherine T. Steirer's Obituary
Katherine T. Steirer (nee George), age 86, of North Ridgeville passed away
peacefully at her home Saturday August 16, 2025.
Born in Cleveland, she grew up in Parma and was a 1958 graduate of Parma
High School. She had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1969, after
moving from Cleveland.
Kathy worked for North Ridgeville City Schools as a server in the cafeteria at the
Middle School from 1978-1992 and was active in the PTA.
She was a longtime member of St. Peter Church where she was involved in
Mother’s Club, as well as a member of the Red Hats ladies club. Kathy would
always pitch in to help where needed, she coached softball — a winning team
mind you, Girl Scouts Troop Leader, and many sleepovers with her beloved
grandkids. She always enjoyed good times with friends and family, she would
never miss an opportunity to join in on a line dance or to dance the night away
with husband Andy. Kathy enjoyed traveling internationally and domestically with
her husband, along with several cruises where she could get plenty of sun. Kathy
also enjoyed gardening, boating, and camping — all were part of her fulfilled life.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, Andrew, children
Christine (Michael) Kuchenrither, Marie (Michael) Rizzo both of Avon, Andrew Jr.
(Cathleen) Steirer of Sylvania, seven grandchildren, Maxwell (Mia) Kuchenrither,
Claire (Samuel) Rippe, Francis (Sarah) Rizzo, Michael and Alyssa Rizzo,
Samantha and Benjamin Steirer, sister-in-law, Carol George and several nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Lucy (nee Cianciola)
George, her twin sister Mary, who passed away as a child and her brother, Louis
George.
The family will receive friends Thursday August 21, 2025, from 6-8 PM at Bogner
