Junior Ramey's Obituary
Junior Ramey, age 87, of North Ridgeville passed away Sunday July 29, 2018 at Independence Village in Avon Lake, following a long illness.
He was born in Tazewell, VA and had lived most of his life in Grafton and North Ridgeville area.
Mr. Ramey served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He retired in 1992 after 37 years with General Motors Parma Chevy Plant where he was a tow motor operator and a member of the UAW.
He enjoyed working with his hands, gardening, woodworking but most of all tinkering on cars.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Edith (nee McGlothlin), daughter Cathy (Mike) Camera of Avon; grandchildren, Lauren (James) Conway, Michael (Karen) Camera; brothers, William (Jeanette) Ramey of Tazewell, Virginia, Kenneth (Pauline) Ramey of Creston; sister, Zelma St. Claire of Tazewell, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Ramey; mother, Sophie Duty; step-father, Paris Duty; brothers, Homer Harte, Raymond Duty and sister, Zola Duty.
Friends may call Wednesday from 9AM until the time of services at 10AM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rev. Alan Jenkins will officiate.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon with military honors by the US Army.
