Junior Clyde Edwards' Obituary
Junior Clyde Edwards, age 80, of Elyria, passed away on September 19, 2017 at the Life Care Center of Westlake after a lengthy illness.
He was born on February 22, 1937 in Branchland, West Virginia and has been a resident of Elyria for the past 22 years. He worked as a laborer for General Motors, retiring in 1987 after nearly 32 years of service.
Junior loved being in the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was an avid collector of baseball cards and enjoyed bluegrass music, traveling to many music festivals.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice (nee Elkins); daughter Deborah (Joe) Smith of North Ridgeville; grandson Daniel Smith of Elyria; many nieces and nephews.
Junior was preceded in death by his son Duane Edwards; parents Freedman and Lottie (nee Vannatter) Edwards; sisters Ruby Bias, Opal Frye, Erma Brown and Helen Ray; brothers Talmadge, Bernard and Charles “Babe” Edwards.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, N. Ridgeville, on Friday from 6-8PM. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10AM in the funeral home. Rev. Lenny Bush will officiate.
Interment will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
