Josip "Canadian Joe" Grgic's Obituary
Josip “Canadian Joe” Grgic, age 75, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at his home.
He was born in Yugoslavia and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 40 years moving from New Jersey.
He was a freedom fighter in the Yugoslavian Army Tank Division from 1959-1961.
He enjoyed socializing with his friends and taking care of his numerous pet dogs including his most recent dog, Rocky.
Survivors include his nephew, Boris Grgic of Yugoslavia and his niece, Renata Grgic of Austria, and many friends including his friend of nearly 40 years, Dan Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his lifelong companion, Lillian Harvey in 2012; brother, Zeljko Grgic; sister-in-law, Tohka Grgic, sister, Ruzich Basic and parents, Perica and Tohka Grgic.
A graveside service will be held 1:30 PM Monday at Elmwood Cemetery 640 N. Ridge Road, Lorain. Reverend Charles Diedrick will officiate.
