Joseph William Boutin's Obituary
Joseph Laurent William Boutin, age 77 of Sheffield Lake, died Monday, April 18, 2005 at his home following a long illness.
He was born November 19, 1927 in Lebanon, NH. He had resided in Sheffield Lake the past 14 years moving from Cleveland.
Mr. Boutin served in the US Navy during WW II with the Amphibious Forces and during the Korean War on the USS New Jersey. He received the National Defense Service Medal, China Service Medal, Korean Service Medal "S", United Nations Service Medal and the Korean President Unit Citation.
He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Sheffield Lake and the Vermilion VFW and the UAW.
Mr. Boutin worked at Ford Motor Company, Brookpark retiring in 1993 after 19 years. He previously worked 22 years at the Victory Ship Yard in Groton, Connecticut.
He enjoyed wood and metal working , bowling, crafts and his cats and was a amateur radio operator.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Carole (nee Modorcea) brother, Albert Boutin of Avon; 2 Sisters, Rita Meyers of Wakeman, Marie Clair Pegg of Port Orange, Florida; several nieces, and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by Parents, Henri and Rose Eva Boutin, sister Martha Arthur.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-9PM, Thursday at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors 6:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home. Friends may also call Friday from 10 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM at Hope Lutheran Church 4792 Oster Road Sheffield Lake.
