Joseph B. Sliva Sr.'s Obituary
Joseph B. Sliva Sr., age 80, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021.
He was born on March 25, 1940 in Cleveland and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 55 years. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and went on to work in Construction at Shippers Highway Express, retiring in 2005. He was a member of Teamsters Local 436 and St. Peter Parish.
Joseph loved helping people as well as tinkering around his own home. He enjoyed road trips with his family, spending time on his boat fishing, and woodworking. His Family enjoyed his famous, unlimited work and life stories.
He is survived by his wife Gloria (nee Reed); children Beth (Mike) Avallone, Kim (Arthur) Valdez, Joseph Jr. (Candi) Sliva, Chris Sliva and Michael Sliva; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters Sr. Florence (Sisters of Charity) and Mary Ann Niece of Lexington, KY.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Anna (nee Papcun) Sliva and numerous other family members.
All Services will be private
Private interment with Full Military honors will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Peter School, 35777 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, Ohio 44039.
