Joseph Profitt Jr's Obituary
Joseph Profitt Jr., age 85, of Lagrange, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at his home.
He was born on June 19, 1936 in Millstone Kentucky and has been a resident of Lagrange for the past six months, moving from Sullivan where he had resided the last 28 years.
He worked as a machine operator for Republic Steel, retiring as Group Leader after 30 years of service. He was a member of the United Steel Workers and the North Lake Missionary Baptist Church in South Amherst.
Joseph loved cars, and always seemed to have a new one. He enjoyed listening to and singing gospel music, showcasing his carpentry skills in building homes, and traveling with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ardath (nee Polly); daughters Connie Jo (Eddie) Carey of Louisville, KY, Cynthia (Carl) Mohr of Spencer and Caryn (Dan) Smith of Sullivan; grandchildren Brooke (Tim) Couch, Josh (Renee) Glemza, Tristin Profitt, Sadie (Travis) Abate, Dagmar Smith and Romi (Aaron) Schmitz; great grandchildren Cooper and Kinley Couch and Felix Abate; sisters Ruby Meade of N. Eaton, Rosa Meade of Cleveland, Mary (Lowell) Chambers of FL and Thelma (Dennis) Trosper of WV; brother Conard (Carolyn) Profitt of KY.
Joseph was preceded in death by his grandson Ryan Carey; parents Joseph Sr. and Rebecca (nee Fulton) Profitt; brothers Fernoy and Willard Profitt; sister Virginia Profitt.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Services will be in the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Conard Profitt will officiate. Entombment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
