Joseph F. Kandra's Obituary
Joseph F. Kandra, age 83, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at St. John Medical Center in Westlake.
He was born in Cleveland, grew up in Parma and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1976 moving from Lakewood.
Joseph served in the US Army in Germany during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a laboratory technician for PPG in Cleveland for over 15 years.
He was a member of St. Jude’ s Catholic Church in Elyria and the Pro Bowlers Association having bowled in several Senior Regional Tournaments. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and his 027 scale train sets.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Elaine (nee Kozlevcar), sons, Chris (Renee) Kandra of Cincinnati, Peter (Lisa) Kandra of Lancaster, Ohio, Matthew (Sharon) Kandra of Cincinnati, grandchildren, Evan, Spencer, Analise, Luke, Collin, Caleb and Samuel, great-grandchildren, Owen, William and Francesca. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marie (nee Thiery) Kandra.
Friends may call Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 9AM until the time of prayer service at 9:30AM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. A 10AM Mass will follow at St. Jude’s Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria. Fr. Jose Fifin will be the celebrant.
Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve, Seville.
