Joseph "Joe" J. Salvatore Sr.'s Obituary
Joseph Salvatore ('Joe') age 72, a longtime North Ridgeville resident died June 12, 2023.
Joe graduated from West Tech High School, class of 1969.
He worked at the Ford Motor Company in Brook Park during the 1970s.
He fulfilled a lifelong dream when he joined the Cleveland Police Department in 1985 and retired as a Vice Detective. It was a career he was very proud of. He worked out of Cleveland's First District throughout his time on the job.
As a young man, Joe was a natural athlete who could pick up and play just about any sport he wanted to learn from racquetball to skiing.
He was a generous and loving father, grandfather, and husband, never wanting to buy for himself but rather spoil his family.
Underneath his stern and hard exterior he had a large heart, if you were lucky enough to witness it.
Joe had a wry sense of humor and always seemed to have a well-timed one-liner at the ready.
In retirement, he always looked forward to Summer and opening his backyard pool, riding his blue motorcycle, or complaining about the weather and the Browns.
Joe was his kids biggest fan and supporter, whether he was cheering from the bleachers or calling to praise you.
His life lessons were simple, direct, and practical.
Joe is survived by his wife Nancy (White), three children Joe Jr. (Tammy), Kim (Cody), and Nick), and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Nicholas Salvatore.
Services will be private.
