Jose M. Rivera Sr., age 68, of Elyria passed away Friday, September 17, 2021, at UH Elyria Medical Center after a short illness. He was born in Puerto Rico and had been a resident of Elyria for the past 5 years moving from Florida. Jose enjoyed working on cars, gardening and plants and spending time with his family. He is survived by his children Jose (Tasha) Rivera of Elyria, Jahaira (Leland) Black of Sanford, FL, Luis (Ashly) Rivera of Jacksonville, FL, Jose (Lakecia) Rivera of Sanford, Fl, Alex Rivera of Elyria, Jessica (Johnny) Vazquez of Elyria; grandchildren Sebastian, Christian, Cristina, Blake, Brookelynn, Jacob, Jeremiah, Johnny Jr., Julio, Analize, Zion; siblings Hilda, Milly, July, Silvia, Noelma, Ana, Mache, Wanda, Juan; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth; son Julio; parents Gregorio and Ana Maria Rivera; brother Jimmy; sister Mary. A celebration of life will be held in the future.
