Jonathan I. "Jon" Tipple's Obituary
Jonathan Irwin 'Jon' Tipple, 70, of North Ridgeville, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026, at his home. He was born January 1, 1956, in Elyria and has been a lifelong resident of North Ridgeville.
After graduating from North Ridgeville High School in 1974, Jon earned his associate's degree in electrical engineering from L.C.C.C. He worked at York International until it closed in 2001, Armstrong Air (Lennox), and Gas Consultants Inc, before he went on to work as an engineer/test technician at Beckett Thermal Solutions in North Ridgeville for the past 12 years.
Jon was a dedicated 4-H dad, always helping his daughters learn new skills, including woodworking and welding; and especially enjoyed pulling floats for the club in the North Ridgeville Corn Festival parade with his Farmall tractor. He was an Oldsmobile enthusiast, and as his daughters turned 16, he taught them to work on their own cars, frequently racing together at Dragway 42 and Summit Motorsports Park.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sue (nee Hollows); daughters, Courtney (Josh Winkleman) Tipple and Caitlyn (Ian) Karbowski; granddaughter, Adelaide; siblings, Bob, Bill, Mickey (Barb), Mary Ann and Jim (Lynn) Tipple; many nieces, nephews and cousins, including his closest cousin and his lifelong best friend, Richard Schartman.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice 'Bea' (nee Gilgenbach) and William Tipple, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Peggy and Marilyn Tipple.
