Jon McFarland's Obituary
Jon M. McFarland, age 59, of North Ridgeville, passed away Tuesday at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain following a long illness.
He was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 28 years moving from Cleveland.
Mr. McFarland served in the United States Navy.
He worked in maintenance for LTV Steel in Cleveland for 27 years then worked the past year at Mittal Steel in Cleveland.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Harley Owners Group. For 15 years, he helped to set up the Knights of Columbus haunted house in North Ridgeville. He was active with Little League football boosters and enjoyed coaching.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Linda L. (nee Morley); sons Jon of Lorain and Michael of
Medina ; daughters Brandy McFarland of Elyria, Melanie Fields of Elyria; stepsons Kenneth Wilson of Cleveland, Thomas Wilson of Elyria Twp., Brian Wilson of Sheffield Lake; 4 grandchildren; mother, Ethel Patton of Lakewood; brother, Robert Patton of Lakewood; sisters Roberta Patton of Cleveland and Betty Collins of Lakewood.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Saturday at 1:00PM in the funeral home. Rev. Donnal Markham of Brecksville Church of God will officiate.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
