John Ryan's Obituary
John J. "Jack" Ryan, 77, formerly of North Ridgeville, died Wednesday May 27, 2009 at his daughter's home in Mansfield following a short illness.
Prior to moving to Mansfield, Mr. Ryan had lived in Wellington and North Ridgeville. He retired from GM following twenty years of service in the maintenance department. Jack served his country as a US Marine during the Korean War. He enjoyed cooking, the outdoors, farming and fixing cars.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Sandel (Warren) of Mansfield and Debbie Frazier (Marvin) of North Ridgeville; six grandchildren, Phillip, Rebecca, Mitchel, Brittney, Michael and Michelle; five great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Marr of Corpus Christi, TX; two brothers, Patrick Smith of VA and Roy Smith of Altoona, PA; many nieces and nephews and his "little girl", Hannah.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann in 2001; mother, Nora Cecelia Ryan-Smith; grandparents, Patrick and Anastasia Ryan with whom he was raised; brother, William Smith and sister, Ruthie Smith.
Visitation Sunday from 2-5PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville where services will be held at 11AM Monday. Rev. Fred Robinette, Pastor of Elyria Church of God of Prophecy will officiate. Burial to follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon where the North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871 will conduct military honors services.
