John J. Lenchak's Obituary
John J. Lenchak, age 69, of Elyria, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at his home after a sudden illness.
He was born on January 3, 1949 in Cleveland and has been a resident of Elyria for the past 41 years. John was a Sargeant with the U.S. Army and went on to work at the G.M. Chevy Plant in Parma for 45 years before retiring in 2014. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 1005.
John enjoyed his time on the computer, reading online newspapers, studying history, reading, golf and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara (nee Alexander); son Jeff (Shannon) of Avon; grandchildren Tyler, Kaila, Kristyn and Sarah; sister Nicki (Marty) Terstage of Cleveland.
John was preceded in death by his parents Steve Lenchak and Eleanor Russell (nee Slanec).
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville Monday, October 29, 2018 from 5-7 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 10 am at the funeral home. Rev Harold Reddick will officiate. Interment with full military honors will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
