John Anthony Kubincanek's Obituary
John Anthony Kubincanek, age 50, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the University Hospital Main Campus in Cleveland after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 8, 1975, in Cleveland and has been a resident of Elyria and North Ridgeville for most of his life.
John loved playing and working on guitars and reloaded his own ammunition for the shooting sports he so enjoyed. He was also an avid fisherman, and enjoyed long drives with no real destination, he just had fun being out on the road. He had a passion for cars, especially Mustangs, as well as RC Cars. John also dabbled in throwing darts and making his own wine and beer.
He is survived by his wife Sarah (nee Curnutte); daughters Madeline and Emily; parents Celia (nee Torres) and John Kubincanek; brother Steven (Melinda Brady) Kubincanek; nephews Pharoh Van De Motter and Gage Kubincanek; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his daughter Ashley Kubincanek; sister Jennifer Kubincanek; paternal grandparents Susan and Martin Kubincanek; maternal grandparents Celia and Juan Torres.
A Memorial Mass for John will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the time of the Mass. Rev. Bob Franco will officiate. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made in John’s name to the National Kidney Foundation at National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
