John Klingshirn's Obituary
John Edward Klingshirn, age 66, of North Ridgeville, passed away Tuesday May 1, 2012 at West Bay Nursing Home in Westlake following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born in Lorain and grew up in Avon Lake. He had resided in North Ridgeville the past 37 years.
Mr. Klingshirn served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.
John worked as a Quality Control Inspector for Swiger Coil Systems in Cleveland.
He was an active member of St. Peter Church, where he served as an usher at the 10 AM Mass. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 7970 and volunteered with many of the chicken BBQ's.
Survivors include his sons, Dan (Annie) Klingshirn of Kailua, HI; Michael Klingshirn of Spokane, WA; twin daughters, Megan Klingshirn of Westlake, Cristin Klingshirn of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Louise Montgomery of Norwalk, Carol Rieth of North Ridgeville, Doris (Ray) Linden of Avon Lake, Rose (Rudy) Pietromica of Vermilion; brothers, Paul (Irena) Klingshirn and Ralph (Karen) Klingshirn all of Bothell, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur F. and B. Helen Klingshirn and sister, Ruth Pikus.
Friends may call Thursday from 3-8 PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM. A 10 AM Mass will follow at St. Peter Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd. Rev. Bob Franco, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon.
