John T. Kekic's Obituary
John T. Kekic, age 65, of Sheffield Lake, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at the Cleveland Clinic-Avon Hospital surrounded by family. He was born on March 25, 1959 in Cleveland and has been a resident of Sheffield Lake for the past 44 years. He worked as a general laborer for the Allen Sugar Company, retiring in 1993.
John truly enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and building model airplanes.
He is survived by his daughters April Kekic of Sheffield Lake, Shannon (John) Kekic-Zgodzinski of Lorain, Crystal Kekic of Sheffield Lake; son-in-law Brendan O’Donnell of Henrietta Township; grandchildren Macalan Mitchell, Grayson Mitchell, Raegen O’Donnell, Brendan S. O’Donnell, Mathias Zgodzinski, Armani Arroyo, and Lycette Jackson; mother Marguerite Murphy of Chatham Township; brother Patrick (Elizabeth) Murphy of Columbus; sisters Kathleen Murphy of Lakewood and Ann (Adam) Eckhardt of Chatham Township; many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Juanita; daughter Jeanette O’Donnell; father Edwin Murphy; grandparents Lucius “Buz” and Josephine Hoffa.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Service Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate. Interment will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
