John Gurcze's Obituary
John D. Gurcze, age 68, of Elyria, died Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Elyria Memorial Hospital. He was born March 29, 1944 in Cleveland to the late Arnold and Mary (nee Sowa) Gurcze. John married Patricia (nee Marion) on April 8, 1967 in Cleveland and she lovingly survives.
Also left to cherish his memory are his three sons and their wives, John Jr. and Traci Gurcze of Cleveland, Michael and Lauri Gurcze of Parma and Ben and Michele Gurcze of Elyria; three beloved grandchildren, Alyson, Ryan and Sean; and a sister, Theresa Gurcze of Broadview Heights.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Gurcze, and sister, Henrietta Sitarz.
John was a machinist for most of his life, retiring in 1999 from Minnoti Corporation, Cleveland. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. John was also an avid fan of drag racing and professional wrestling. He was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast, owning three in his lifetime. A loving and caring man, John will also be fondly remembered for his terrific sense of humor, brutal honesty and undying loyalty to family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 p.m. Monday in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where funeral services to honor John's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Father Bob Sanson will preside with committal rites and burial to follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
