John B. Gilgenbach's Obituary
John B. Gilgenbach, age 63, of Elyria, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center.
He was born in Lakewood, grew up in North Ridgeville and moved to Elyria in 2010.
John was a cook and cleaned for the North Ridgeville Senior Center for many years.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville, Loyal Order of the Moose in Elyria and an active Auxiliary member of VFW Post 9871 in North Ridgeville.
Survivors include his sister, Joyce Smith of Athens, Georgia, nieces, Ann Marie Rice and Margaret Smith. John’s sister Carol Gilgenbach passed just four days after him on September 18, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Frances (nee Holtwick) Gilgenbach and sister, Frances “Penny” Milbrandt.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 1:30 pm at St. Peter’s Cemetery, North Ridgeville. Fr. Joe Robinson will officiate.
