John Durig's Obituary
John W. "Dutch" Durig, age 77, of North Ridgeville, died Thursday morning at New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain, following a long illness. He was born in New Martinsville, West Virginia and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1968.
He served in the United States Army from 1945-1951
Mr. Durig graduated from West Liberty College, Wheeling, WV and had taught and coached at North Ridgeville Schools and Amherst Schools. He also worked as an armature winder for the Monarch Electric Company for 20 years and retired from there in 1992.
He enjoyed watching football games and he loved to dance.
He was a member of the Elyria Elks.
Survivors include his son, Lewis Durig, of Austin, TX; daughters, Helen Star, of Madison, WI and Patricia Durig, of Churchill, VA; seven grandchildren; sisters, Grace Batton, of New Martinsville, WV, Mary June Bohrer, of Senecaville, OH and Melba Heller, of Clarington, OH and brother, George Durig, of Seaford, DE
He is preceded in death by his son, David Durig and his parents; Lewis and Bertha (nee Roth) Durig and brothers, Robert and Raymond Durig.
There is no visitation. Burial will be in New Martinsville, WV.
David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road , North Ridgeville is in charge of arrangements.
