John R. Alton's Obituary
John R. Alton, age 88, of North Ridgeville, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at O’Neill Healthcare in Bay Village. He was born in Monroe City, IN and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 53 years formerly of Cleveland. He was a member of the US Army having served in Vietnam. He worked as a US Marshall for many years before retiring in 1990. John enjoyed fishing in his early years, traveling and gambling. He is survived by his children Janet (Jim) Glover of IN, Tracey (Rico) of Las Vegas; grandchildren Jennifer (Mike) Novak, Joshua, Amanda; great grandchildren Noah, Ruby; brothers Jim (Sharon), Terry, Jack; sister Anita; son-in-law Kenny Poweski; brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Shirleen Bishop; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Bregetta; daughter Lynne Poweski. Visitation Friday from 5 – 7 pm at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville. Funeral service Saturday at 12:30 pm in the funeral home. Rev Alan Jenkins will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon with full military honors.
